Jose Pillado - biography

Jose Pillado grew up in South Central Los Angeles where the daily struggles to survive the inner city life resulted in life lessons learned. Those experiences are what sparked a deep desire to incorporate them in different aspects of his acting career.
As a child, Jose performed constantly for friends and family, impersonating various
Television and radio personalities as well as creating his own make believe characters. Meanwhile, Jose’s interest for acting and film making developed after creating a short film titled "South Central" while attending Thomas Jefferson High School. Later, as an undergraduate student at California State University Northridge, he took many
miscellaneous classes as an undeclared major. After trying out different possibilities,
Jose decided to explore his interest in film and acting.
In the spring of 2001, he attended classes at Los Angeles Pierce College Theater
Department, where his love and passion for acting was confirmed. It was there where
Jose discovered his extrovert personality by performing many dramatic and comedic
roles in front of audiences, including stand up comedy. Jose has been acting ever since in numerous short films, feature films, television shows, music videos, and commercials taking on more serious roles portraying characters: such as high school students, athletes, gang members, thugs, and criminal types. Some of Jose’s recent work includes guest starring and co-starring on television shows like CSI Las Vegas and Americas Most Wanted. In “Workout from the Pen” (2007) a TV series comedy, Jose can be seen playing a funny- flamboyant character named Ramon. His feature film credits include “Bondage” (2006) directed by Eric Allen Bell and “GB: 2525” (2007) directed by Kieron Estrada. He also continues performing and studying acting whenever possible. Currently his interests include, in depth character exploration, and improvisation study.
