Denise Thurman - biography
Denise was born in Bloomington, Indiana as the youngest of seven children. She spent her childhood playing make-believe while living in the country and dreaming of someday pursuing a filmmaking career in the entertainment industry.
After graduating from Bloomington High School North, she went on to study English and Theatre at Vincennes University. She eventually moved to Alabama where she was incessantly involved with her church and traveled to Jamaica, Belize and Massachusetts on short-term missions. She later moved to Nashville, Tennessee to continue her education and studied Filmmaking at Watkins Film School with a major in screenwriting.
Denise moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue writing and acting. Her screenplay "Welcome Home" received a Consider in the 2006 AAA Screenplay Contest placing it in the top 20%. She currently has several other screenplays in the works. She aspires to act as well as write, direct and produce films that make a positive difference in the lives of others. She’s currently writing a book about her struggles and triumphs in life in hopes to encourage and inspire others to live a full life and stay on the right track.
She enjoys the company of friends and family, hiking, hanging out at the beach and designing her own greeting cards
